lyrics

Poème (Thierry Deneux) Interpreted Translation by Greg Hone

Poetry,
Whether Fantasy, or a dream come true,
Both give our spirits wings.
I drag the burdens around with me,
Which clip my wings
To soar high and free, across the Heavens..
To be free of the cares of this always sunlit world,
More clearly see the stars, and share with you,
The vision of something never seen before,
Except for Water, Air and Earth,
And space for Poetry.
Everything seems true.
Is this not time to declare our mutual love?
Water, flowing through us,
Mingles into tears, turning into floods,
Drying in sunlight.
Poetry,
It is Winter in Summer sun,
It Autumn in budding Spring,
Urging us to to behold the beautiful,
And make our words resonate
With true and deathless meaning.
Freely to embrace in guiltless innocence,
When the flowing stream of Life unites us more,
And we share belief in things always held true,
Like Water, Air and Earth, and always
Poetry,
Like a hidden side, consigned to oblivion,
Buried in sleep.
How soon our thoughts mingle and become
Strange dreams of wonder,
Which enthrall.

Qu’on aurait oublié
Au fond d’un sommeil
Sitôt,
Nos pensées se mélangent
Et se transforment en rêves étranges
Dont je m’émerveille.
